Live Review: Jadis at The 1865

There are gigs where a band simply plays the songs, and then there are nights where the music fills the room with something far more immersive. When progressive rock veterans Jadis took to the stage at The 1865 last night, it was very much the latter.

From the opening moments, the band delivered a performance steeped in the melodic sophistication and atmosphere that has made them a beloved name in the progressive rock scene. Guitarist and frontman Gary Chandler led the charge with fluid guitar work and warm, expressive vocals that carried effortlessly across the venue.

The rhythm section locked in with precision, creating a solid foundation for the band’s sweeping arrangements. Meanwhile, the keyboards added the lush textures and cinematic layers that define the Jadis sound. Tracks flowed seamlessly from reflective passages into soaring instrumental sections, giving the audience plenty of moments to simply close their eyes and drift into the music.
